Alan Luck

Who am I?

I'm proud to call St. Albert home. I have lived here for over 25 years. I currently live in Erin Ridge with my wife Judee and our dog Jack.

I grew up in rural Alberta with close family and community ties which have supported my core values of working hard and staying grounded. These values are fundamental to my approach to impact the future direction of the city.

My long term career as an Engineer for a global energy company has helped me develop skills that are essential for problem solving and sound decisions making.

Rooted in community
Engineer, practical problem-solver

I hold Technology Diplomas in Civil Engineering from SAIT and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Environmental Engineering from the University of Regina as wells as extension course certificates in Environmental Law and Renewable Energy from the University of Alberta.

I have consistently given back to the St. Albert community throughout the years by coaching and being part of the Soccer Association Board and, when no one else was willing to stand up, I took the lead to coordinate the Terry Fox Run on behalf of the city and carry on Terry's important legacy and mission.

I am in my second term, serving on the Environmental Advisory Committee for the City of St. Albert. I worked with council members and other public members to positively impact and influence environmental matters. That role has allowed me to understand and appreciate the decision-making process of the city first-hand and has shown me how community members can impact city direction.

Why I'm Running

St. Albert is my home. I have developed lifelong relationships and learned values that continue to shape who I am today. There are opportunities in St. Albert to support and enhance what St. Albert is known for and create new features that will improve your quality of life and attract young families and new businesses.

I excel at finding practical solutions for complex and often ambiguous problems. Decision making must be data-based and acting with both courage and common sense. My work experience provides me a grounding to ensure solutions are feasible and make economic sense and I can use that to secure what we have and what we want in the future for St. Albert.

I love St. Albert and look forward to improving your quality of life.

Community engagement in St. Albert
"Alan, on behalf of our family and the Terry Fox Foundation, I want to thank you for your dedication to Terry's dream to find a cure for cancer. Your commitment to volunteer your time in organizing the St. Albert Terry Fox Run is very much appreciated. Terry wanted to set an example that would never be forgotten. He hoped his effort in 1980 would make a difference. You are making a difference in the lives of those who will be diagnosed with cancer. Thank you."
